Kids Yoga

CC is passionate about spreading the gift of yoga, especially to populations that do not typically have access to a yoga studio and registered yoga teachers. CC is excited announce that we are offering three kids yoga programs in Spring 2020!

Kingsport YMCA

  • 4 weekly sessions

  • February 3rd, 10th, 17th & 24th

  • 5:30 to 6:00 PM

  • Ages 5 to 11

  • Classes taught by Toni Hobbs, RYT 200

  • Mats and blocks will be provided

Kingsport YMCA

After School Program

  • 4 weekly sessions

  • School sites & dates: 

    • Kennedy Feb 14th​

    • Roosevelt Feb 21st

    • Jackson Feb 28th

    • Lincoln March 6th

  • 3:00 to 3:30 PM

  • Classes taught by Jennifer Beasley, RYT 200

  • Mats will be provided

John Sevier Middle School

  • 4 weekly sessions

  • Feb 21st, Feb 28th, March 6th & March 13th

  • Open to students and staff

  • 7:00 to 7:30 AM

  • Classes taught by Alyson Argabrite, RYT 200

  • Mats will be provided

Yoga is not only an exercise for the body but a way to calm the mind. There are eight limbs of yoga and the postures (asana) are only one limb. Through breathing techniques, concentration, meditation, etc., an individual that practices several limbs of yoga becomes more self aware. This might include learning to be present in the moment, giving grace to one’s self and finding peace in a chaotic world. We can’t wait to continue spreading the gift of yoga to our younger populations!
