Why are you on the board for cOMmunity collective? Where to begin? I have an athletic background from playing school sports all the way up to teaching group exercise classes throughout college. I am very competitive and draw more to physical activity that is challenging.

I fell in love with the yoga practice in August of 2017. I am so thankful for my home yoga studio and the impact that it has had on my life, my relationship with myself and my family, the community and so many other positives that it has brought. Yoga is much more than a set of postures and sequences, it is a lifestyle. Yoga is a tool that allows one to focus on what is going on on the inside and an outlet to forget what is going on on the outside.

The way that this practice has impacted my life has been a catalyst for this organization, cOMmunity collective (CC). Although I am not the founder of CC, I was brought on at the very beginning. I joined CC with a desire to bring the same positive benefits from this practice to my community. I want others to experience what I have through the gift of yoga. I want to encourage others to take time for themselves and experience the freedom that comes from loving yourself and living in the moment.

Favorite yoga pose and why: Honestly, I don’t have a “favorite yoga pose”. My favorite part of the practice is challenging arm balances. The feeling of supporting myself up with my own strength is very rewarding. When I’m learning a new arm balance and fail, it challenges me to keep trying. That’s constant in yoga, when you fail don’t give up, get up and try again!

Least favorite yoga pose and why: Any pose that requires being upside down (inversions). There are two things in my life that I want to enjoy, bananas and inversions!
